How Davinder Bhasin Turned a Personal Struggle into One Health Assist – A Super App for Digital Healthcare

The journey of One Health Assist began with a deeply personal experience. Founder Davinder Bhasin watched his mother struggle with the burden of carrying physical health records, only to find that doctors often lacked the time to review them.

"Doctors don’t have the time to go through all the reports, so I thought, why not compress everything into an app? It would take the weight off patients while also giving doctors a way to analyze the entire report in just a few seconds," he recalls. "It was my personal problem that led to the creation of this product."

A Unified Health Ecosystem

One Health Assist isn’t just a digital health repository. It’s an all-in-one healthcare management platform for the entire family, ranging from young adults seeking fitness guidance to elders needing simplified record-keeping, and even pet parents managing their animals’ health

It enables simplified and secure storage, access, and sharing of medical data, from routine check-ups to complex imaging reports. Beyond record-keeping, it integrates health analytics, real-time consultations with medical professionals, and seamless access to diagnostic labs and order medicines via pharmacies.

“With OneHealthAssist, the entire healthcare ecosystem is available on your mobile phone,” says Davinder. “From the comfort of your home, you can upload your documents, book appointments, and share records with doctors. Once diagnosed, prescriptions are sent directly to your mobile, allowing you to purchase medicines or book lab tests, all within the same ecosystem.”

The platform guarantees that any shared data, even with the doctors, is only accessible with the user’s consent. To further secure information, reports sent to doctors are available through a 30-minute self-destructing link, preventing unauthorized access and data downloading.

Transforming Healthcare Through Smart Features

Enhanced Diagnosis and Health Analytics

One Health Assist simplifies medical record storage and enhances diagnosis by converting health data into a structured, easily accessible format.

Davinder explains, "The health repository does two things—better diagnosis and structured analysis. Instead of searching through years of reports, doctors can instantly access a patient's complete history, see trends, and diagnose accurately within seconds."

Users receive a health score based on their records, providing insights into their overall well-being. The health score is derived from a comprehensive analysis of physical health, diagnostic reports, lifestyle habits, and mental wellness. The mental health aspect is evaluated through a psychometric test, which contributes to the overall score.

"It's not only physical; your actual health is both your physical and mental health," says Davinder.

For doctors, Davinder explained that the system organizes years of medical history into a tabular format, enabling them to analyze key parameters like HbA1c trends in seconds. “This helps in faster, more accurate diagnoses,” he said.

Bridging the Gap Between Physical and Digital Healthcare

The platform partners with 90+ doctors, leading diagnostic labs like Agilus Diagnostics and Thyrocare, and over 80 health brands. Users can access the platform via iOS, Android apps, through the website.

The business follows a hybrid model that blends online services with offline presence. Currently, it operates a hybrid pharmacy in Mumbai, with plans underway to expand to cities like Ahmedabad, Jhajjar, Delhi, and Hyderabad through new e-clinics and physical pharmacies.

"Our physical pharmacies are integrated with an e-clinic. Users can walk in, and a nurse records their health parameters in real time. Doctor consultations happen right there online in front of a camera. It’s all part of our hybrid model," Davinder shared.

Additionally, for those unable to visit a gym or engage in outdoor activities due to health conditions, One Health Assist provides home fitness programs, yoga sessions, and meditation guidance.

A Cost-Effective Model for Chronic Care Management

Recognizing the high costs associated with chronic illnesses, the platform introduced a unique model where patients who commit to a year-long medicine subscription receive complementary wellness services for the overall well-being of the consumer—including diet plans, general physician consultations, fitness sessions, and mental health support with qualified psychologists.

“For a patient suffering from chronic diseases, medication expenses are through the roof. We offer them free services that support their overall well-being once they commit to our medicine subscription,” Davinder explains.

One Health Assist generates revenue through transactions in the platform–lab tests, doctor consultations, wellness sessions, and product purchases. While the health repository is free for users, they receive discounts on these services, and the platform earns revenue through the associated transactions.

Simplifying Elderly Care

One Health Assist is designed for users across all age groups, ensuring simplicity even for those unfamiliar with technology.

Davinder explains, "With the wide range of products and services we offer, the age and segment of our users are diverse. Our platform has users as young as 20 doing home workouts, and someone as old as 65 doing a doctor consultation."

Features like photo-based health record uploads make it easy for elderly users to manage their medical data. “We wanted to make sure the system is simple enough to use for anyone, whether they’re tech-savvy or not. Uploading a report should be as easy as clicking a photo.”

For caregivers, the app allows them to manage the health records of their parents or elderly relatives, book appointments, and share medical information seamlessly with doctors.

Expanding to Pet Health

Beyond human healthcare, Davinder’s personal experience as a pet parent inspired an extension of the platform to pet health management.

Davinder explains, "As a pet parent, I’ve struggled with managing my dog’s health records. I thought, why not include a place for pets on the platform too? After all, they’re family and deserve proper care."

This experience inspired the creation of a pet health repository within the platform, allowing users to store and manage their pets’ health data just like their own. The app enables users to track vaccinations, store medical history, and schedule vet visits, ensuring pets receive the same level of care as their human counterparts.

Iterative Growth Through User Feedback

Davinder shared that One Health Assist is continuously evolving based on user needs–healthcare providers and patients. Several innovative features were introduced through direct customer insights:

Infant Vaccination Tracking: Feedback from parents revealed that they found it difficult to keep track of their child’s vaccinations, leading to missed doses.

Davinder explains, “One of the key conversations I had with a mother highlighted the need for continuous vaccination reminders. So we decided to create a system for infant vaccination tracking, that sends repeated reminders until the vaccination is marked as completed.”

Clinic Management: Davinder observed doctors constantly struggling to manage their clinics manually, leading to time inefficiencies and chaotic operations.

“Managing clinics manually is one of the biggest challenges for doctors. So we added features to streamline appointments, calendar management, digitalized letterheads, and so on to enhance workflow, reduce administrative burden, and make doctors’ lives easier.”

Voice-Based Prescription: Doctors spend considerable time typing prescriptions, which adds to their workload. One Health Assist has developed a voice-based prescription feature, enabling doctors to dictate prescriptions, saving time and enhancing efficiency during consultations. This enables doctors to focus more on patient care.

Go-To-Market (GTM) Strategy

Post-pandemic awareness of digital health solutions has grown significantly. One Health Assist capitalizes on this shift with an aggressive online and offline user acquisition strategy, supported by a dedicated team of over 150 people.

Online Growth: Strategic partnerships, including with Brand Capital, and a strong digital presence across platforms like Meta and Google drive awareness.

Offline Expansion: Targeted activations in residential welfare associations (RWAs) and corporate settings introduce potential users to the platform’s full capabilities.

One Health Assist retains users through a reward system called One Health Assist Coins.

“We encourage users to build their health repository by rewarding them with coins for uploading medical reports. The coins can be redeemed for services like consultations, lab tests, and pharmacy purchases.”

Building for the Future

One Health Assist is not just solving today’s problems—it’s innovating for the next 10-20 years,” says Davinder. The team is working on augmented reality-based “digital buddy” providing real-time assistance and AI-powered chatbots for personalized healthcare guidance.

“The goal is to anticipate what users will need years down the line and develop solutions accordingly,” says Davinder.

This AR integration is designed to make healthcare more interactive and accessible by simplifying navigation, providing assistance when necessary, and ensuring users access health-related information and services with ease.

Additionally, a calorie count system is being developed to help users track the nutritional value of their meals in real-time, making healthier eating decisions more accessible.
